The Q-Bone™ was developed to replicate the sensation of a mother dog gently mouthing the neck of her puppies as a form of gentle correction or discipline. When a mother dog grabs the puppy’s neck, the puppy instantly goes limp…effectively shutting down whatever behavior the puppy is displaying.
As it turns out, dogs never forget this sensation and even adult dogs respond to the gentle bite. Having two collars with opposing Q-Bones attached successfully mimics this gentle biting action and results in instantly getting the attention of the dog. That moment of attention allows the trainer to re-direct the dog’s actions, whether that is walking, stopping, etc.
